Rose Nicholas' mother, Mrs. Davis, was constantly doing hand work. Sometime in the 1970's, she embroidered a quilt like this. Rose liked it so well that she bought a kit to make her own. She never got beyond pinning the top together. When Rose moved into assisted living, she gave the kit to me. I completed the cross stitched top, and then hand quilted it, following the printed pattern. I think of Rose whenever I look at this quilt.
