I began this quilt at a Pat Speth Nickel Quilt workshop on what would have been my daughter's 23rd birthday. I have included in the quilt top a small red calico print which I had used in making a doll quilt given to her for Christmas in 1984. The same fabric was used for the star pieced into the backing as a reminder that her life was a gift from above and that a star shines bright in heaven. In loving memory of Kelley Christine Chilek August 5, 1983 - December 29, 1985
