This is the fourth in a series of color study quilts completed by the Art Quilt Bee. The quiltmakers began this project by dyeing fabric in a color gradation from blue-violet to yellow-orange. The fabric was then divided among the artists, who quilted blocks of the hand-dyed fabrics with rust thread. The result celebrates the surprising range of colors obtained by mixing only two dye colors - and the wonderful diversity of the group's individual quilting styles.
