In 1999 our guild's challenge was titled "It's About Water" and required the use of taupe fabric. An adaptation of a watercolor painting by my brother-in-law, my challenge quilt reflects a confluence of ideas and images of water. Pat has always been deeply inspired and invigorated by water, loves boats, and has built a career as a watercolor artist. So whether as inspiration, nourishment, vehicle, medium or vocation, water truly touches his spirit. And for the ways he has touched my life, this will be gift for his 50th birthday.
