I once had a calendar with pictures of Hawaiian scenes, and one of the pictures was of the Kilauea volcano. Eventually, that picture beckoned me to create a quilt that was representative of that volcano, so here it is. Sheri Haner machine quilted this piece from the back, following the outline of the floral design. Perhaps one day we will take a field trip to Hawaii to visit the volcano that inspired this quilt.
