In November of 2000 I attended the Spectacular Scraps workshop at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. I started collecting black and white fabrics. I planned to piece the top at the Guild’s retreat in April 2001 but couldn’t locate my book for reference. But I made the blocks anyway and just started playing with their placement. With much encouragement and a few scraps of borrowed fabric, this was the result! When I found the backing fabrics, the quilt seemed to name itself.
