The first star on this quilt was intended to be the 12-inch center needed for a fall workshop. The piece measured much larger than 12 inches by 12 midnight the night before the workshop. Then the phases of the moon, corner “suns” and constellations were added. The stars are from Scraps, Blocks and Quilts: Judy Martin. The compasses are from Mariner’s Compass: Sharlene Jorgenson.
