The day after I retired on September 28, 2007, my husband and I took a trip to Maine, New Hampshire, and Martha's Vineyard to see the incredible beauty of fall in the northeastern United States. While we were in New Hampshire and so close to the town Keepsake Quilting is located in, I managed to talk my husband into taking me there to buy a souvenir. :-) While shopping in this wonderful store, I saw a book entitled 'Successful Scrap Quilts' by Judy Turner and Margaret Rolfe and immediately fell in love with the quilt pictured on the front cover because it was made with Batiks in all the fall colors. I knew I had to make this quilt and purchased many of the Batiks at Keepsake Quilting and at Heath Hen Quilt Shop on Martha's Vineyard. My mom, Walterene Peters, helped me make this quilt on our special Friday 'sew days'.
