This quilt was made as a high school graduation gift for my niece, Sara. She provided input on the color scheme and watched me assemble the finished blocks during a retreat at Emily's Quilt Haus in the summer of 2011. Sara is a gifted seamstress, so she will appreciate the hours I spent on the hand applique and hand quilting. The needle turn applique elements are quilted to make the overall quilt durable. I want Sara to feel comfortable using the quilt in her dorm room during her years at the University of Alabama. I enjoyed thinking of Sara while working on this gift and hope it will bring her sweet dreams. The center layout for this quilt was inspired by Ellen Graf's 'Somewhere In Time', QNM September 2000 issue.
