I grew up in Bryan, Texas where I went to the movies at the Queen Theater. A few years ago my husband and I were in Bryan and stayed at the historic LaSalle Hotel on the same block as The Queen Theater. I took several photos and decided that I would make an art quilt of the building someday. Then in a visit to Bryan's Carnegie Library and Archives, the very helpful staff showed me a 1939 article of the theater's grand opening, which became the inspiration for life in its glory days.
