The rice bag for this jacket has traveled around the country with me through six moves in 40 years. I bought it at a Japanese store in the University District of Seattle where I was taking a course in Japanese cooking. I loved the look on the face of the figure but never knew what I wanted to do with it until this challenge came along. Back in the early 1900s my mother and her sisters wore clothes made from feed sacks so I am carrying on a family tradition.
