I was a member of the El Paso Quilters Association before moving to Austin. EPQA had a monthly block exchange. Any member could make 1 or more blocks and get their name in a drawing to win all of the blocks made that month. One year I served as chairman of the block exchanges. I decided that we would make a year of stars with muslin backgrounds. These were my sample blocks for the year. I drafted out the setting so that my stars would appear to float. It was a challenge to put all of the different colors together. The quilt will be a wedding present for my nephew and his wife who live in El Paso.
