I am encouraging my grandchildren to quilt or at least get a sense of how much is involved in a quilt's creation. My grandson was 6 at the time we started the quilt. I let him select the background color. He sat on my lap and pushed the footpedal of the machine - FAST of course. He found out that it takes " A lot of time" to sew the blocks and he would tire quickly. It was so much fun adding the bugs, snakes, snails, etc. in the sashing. The spiders came aboard later and I am happy with the way they are exploring the jars and the label. I used glow-in-the-dark thread to write a special message to my grandson and to have some of the creatures and the labels keep him company at night. My message "I love Thomas" can be found in the right-hand border.
