The Light Within hit me at 3:00 AM, I sprung from my bed on a full run to my studio before I realized that I was even awake. I have never had anything come to me this way but hope it happens again really soon. The Light Within was roughly sketched out so that I could go back to sleep but a sound sleep did not come as I continued to develop the piece as I slept. This piece is heavily thread-painted and has multiple layers of batting and stabilizer to create the depth and structure of the tree. Please touch this one; it seems to invite you with its warmth. The roots, the fire, the globe, the smirk on her face, her hair, the chair by the fireplace and the vines that seem to hug the tree all draw you in for a closer look.
