I made this quilt as a sample for a book by RaNae Merrill titled Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts which will be available in the Fall of 2008 by Krause Publications. RaNae was a member of one of my Yahoo Groups and she asked for volunteers to help her with her new book. As she wrote the chapters, she emailed them to me and I designed the main spiral block following her methods. I chose to only make 4 blocks and designed a wall hanging setting. It is machine pieced on an interfacing foundation and machine quilted by me on a Bernina. This has been a long 3 year process. I have learned first hand how much hard work and dedication it takes to write and get a book published. RaNae's book will finally be available in the Fall 2008 and I wish her lots of success.
