I had surgery for arthritis/scoliosis (lateral curve of the spine) in December 2005. This quilt symbolizes a year of recovery through hand cross-stitched calendar month blocks. As I worked through the stitching, embellishing, piecing, and quilting, I thought how grateful I am to be alive, to have had a good outcome, and especially to have the support of family and friends.
