I am interested in quilts that combine appliqué and piecing into one cohesive design. The contrast of the curved elements of appliqué and the straight lines of piecing create texture and depth in a quilt. With that in mind, I designed this quilt to incorporate my love for piecing, and needleturn appliqué into one project. Last summer, I had the opportunity to go to Los Angeles and demonstrate this quilt on the TV show "Uncommon Threads" for the DIY network. The experience was frightening but turned out to be so much fun that I would not hesitate to do it again.
