Summer Sunrise is dedicated to my mother Jean, who passed away the summer of 2005 when I was making this quilt. She was a quilter of many years and inspired me to try the quilting arts. The colors in this quilt remind me of a sunrise in summer. I adapted parts of Karen Stone's paper-pieced patterns of New York Beauty quilts.
