Comments
After my bee, Easy Piecers, made quilts from Ricky Tims' book, Convergence Quilts, for donation to the 2004 silent auction, I decided to make my own with my favorite Australian print fabric (kangaroos/waterholes/rivers). The hand-dyed yellow fabric from Patty Koeninger of Plum Creek Textiles represents the blazing sun, the rusty orange batik fabric represents the earth, the swirly dark blue batik represents the seasonal rivers and billabongs, and the Australian print from Leo9 Fabrics represents the indigenous animals and people of Australia, crossing the land and resting at the waterholes.
