I fell in love with Provencal fabrics on a trip to Avignon in 1992 and lugged home kilos of them. I'd played around with the idea of combining a large number of unrelated, unequal size blocks on a small Christmas quilt several years before. I thought, "Why not try again on a grander scale?" Some of these blocks were driven by the design of a block I liked. Others were started with a group of fabrics that looked great together and went in search of a block. My favorite is the unicorn. Machine pieced and quilted, hand appliquéd.
