I began this quilt when my daughter Rachel was working on an insect collection for science class. The quilt includes embroidered dragonflies on top of spiraled quilting in glow-in-the-dark thread, beadings, wavy basketweave background quiltling, and spider web quilting. Perle cotton crazy stitches around leaves, stems, and flowers also function as quilting stitches. Basic design from Linda Potter's class on lightly-fused, raw-edged appliqué and big stitching. Crazy quilt stitches mostly from Judith Montano's Elegant Stitches and Dorothy Bond's Crazy Quilt Stitches.Hand quilted and embellished.
