Living In Interesting Times by Mary Shepherd|
I have wanted to make a crazy quilt since I was in high school and have been collecting silk since then. I finally decided in mid September to stop procrastinating and just do it. It took two weeks of evenings and weekends to assemble the blocks: It took much longer to embellish them. The poem in the border is one of my favorites. The title comes from an ancient Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times". The central piece of the chartreuse block is a map of lower Manhattan showing the World Center. This came from a silk handkerchief I've had for years.
