Not just a crazy quilt, it's the INSANITY QUILT! An embellished piece based on traditional crazy quilting, with a modern heavy metal twist. All the usual lace and flowers are fine, but they have been done to death. And what better theme than DEATH for a dark and devilish quilt? The skull fabrics and trims were found on Etsy. The fabric-printed photo is of the metal band IMMORTAL, from the grim and frostbitten land of Norway. I limited the color palette to black, white and chrome for maximum contrast. I also designed my own special barbed-wire embroidery stitch. From making this piece, I learned that to make a full-sized crazy quilt, one would have to be truly....INSANE!
