One summer we traveled to Glacier National Park. I wanted a quilt to remind me of that visit. I made the border first. The border blocks remind me of the many animal tracks (mostly five-toed prints) we saw although the top corners represent the sun and moon. We saw too many grizzly and black bears - way too close - while we were hiking. Do you see the baby bear on its back playing with its toes? The hikers are my husband with his hiking stick and grey day pack and me with my favorite green fanny pack. Other animals we saw that are included in the quilt are a porcupine, which swung its tail at me and fortunately missed, a moose, big horned sheep, and mountain goats. The glaciers were impressive and the small mountain lakes were the blue-green color illustrated on the quilt. It is a lovely place. You should go and visit.
