I signed up for a workshop to make a large cosmos flower in May 2009 after checking to ensure that the class was on Saturday and not Friday (as they sometimes are). My son was graduating from college. The workshop coordinator assured me that there was space in the class, but did not say anything about the class not taking place on Saturday as I had specifically asked. I showed up for the class on Saturday after the guild meeting and discovered to my horror that it had happened the day before and 'they wondered where I was'. So, because there were no real instructions or other handouts to assist me in making the instructor's 'cosmos' and I had lost out on the $50 fee, I decided to make my own from scratch. I got my own picture of a cosmos, made a pattern and all the rest. The reason for the Georgia O'Keefe title is that as I was making this flower it took on a life of its own and reminded me of a particular style, but it was not until a member of my bee said Georgia O'Keefe that I realized who. So Georgia On My Mind it is!
