I made this quilt for my daughter in celebration of her wedding day. She was married outdoors in front of large oddly shaped rocks at the Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain in Georgia. The rocks are made of interlocking circles composed of triangles and squares around hexagons - a kind of double wedding ring variation. A storm passed by, but only a few raindrops fell and then the sun shone again. A violin and cello trio (Alan's aunt played the violin) serenaded us with lovely music during the service and we enjoyed piano music (Rachel's aunt) during the reception. Rachel and Alan first exchanged phone numbers on the walking bridge over the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, and later became engaged on the same bridge, which we could see down below from our vantage point on Lookout Mountain. The wedding party met for pictures at the bridge and on the walkway down from the Art museum to the bridge. Rachel's bouquet and the wedding cake were also included in the quilt.
