I love pearls so when I read the entry rules for garments I knew I had to design something based on that. Different shades of white fabric and threads were used to create contrast and make it more interesting. The band of pieced squares were made using paper foundation and hand stitched to the dress. The machine quilted designs on the skirt of the dress were free motion quilted with a minimum of markings. I attached tulle to the underside to give the dress a more "fluffy" look.
