Olinala is a place in central Mexico where artisans make carved wooden boxes, serving trays and an array of decorative items. I got inspired to make this wall hanging after seeing a beautiful serving tray carved with anatomically incorrect animals. I decided to recreate the Olinala technique in fabric using my quilting skills and bright colored threads.
