It's so easy to forget how tiny our babies fingers and toes once were! Before it was too late, I wanted to capture the memories of my daughter, Sierra (8) and my son, Jackson (4). We used Marcia Layton's book Calendar Kids for design ideas plus added some of our own ideas. Each block was hand embroidered and hand embellished before being assembled into a one of a kind quilt top. I used shiva paintsicks to stencil my original poem onto the sashing. Though the quilt turned out to be more labor intensive than I EVER imagined, it was great fun to make and I'm so happy to have a quilt that will forever capture the memories of days gone by.
