I bought this pattern in Hawaii in 1997 when we were on a trip in Hawaii. I thought it would be hard and take a long time to make, so I put it off. In 2003 I was 75 so I decided I would use my birthday money and I could get a discount at a quilt store on my birthday, so I could afford to buy the fabric. The pattern is like a folk art drawing. It took almost two years to make. I got it finished in 2005.
