This quilt came about from a block-of-the-month class at the Bernina store. Since I am not fond of the retro-style fabrics, I chose a bright print border fabric, and then selected matching solids and tone-on-tone fabrics for the individually pieced blocks. This is the first sampler quilt that I have completed. While I enjoyed learning Eleanor Burns' various shortcut techniques, I also learned quite a bit about these traditional patterns and their history.
