When I saw this quilt in Sharon Rexroad's booth in Houston, I knew I had to make it for my mother-in-law, Jean Hawkins. Family signatures were collected on holidays, at weddings, reunions, and also in the mail. It took three years. I mailed doilies to some family members with what I thought were detailed instructions, including “sign below the ¼-inch line”. I had family members sign "in" the quarter-inch line and upside down! In the end, three years was fine as marriages took place, babies were born, and more family names were added to the quilt. Mother-in-law was very pleased!
