My dear friend of 24+ years, Rachel Moll of Tampa, guided me into quilting and participating in the Round Robin with two other ladies, Dian McCymond of Kansas City and Jane Bohannon of Alvin. Each of us started our own quilt center and passed it to the next friend so she could add a border of her choice. The name of my quilt, Friends Connected, recognizes the work we invested in each of our four quilts and the friendships we created that will keep us forever connected. I started with the center block of red, green, and beige Sawtooth Stars and Checkerboard borders. Rachel added appliqué to the corner triangles as well as the Square in a Square border. Dian added the appliquéd woven baskets, red tulips, green vines, and leaves. Jane added the red and green ribbon and floral border. As a novice quilter, I never dreamed I would participate in creating something so beautiful.
