We vacation in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park in California. While hiking near the Calcite mines and Palm Wash, we encountered these wind caves. My daughter Rachel and her cousin Seth climbed out into them, and my brother-in-law John Hess took their picture. This quilt is my attempt to convert the essence of the photograph into a quilt. I thought it was successful, but my family assures me that you would have to see the picture to know what the quilt is depicting! It made them think of Egyptian burial sites. Ah well, at least I like it.
