America's Flowers is a collection of state flower fabrics that was issued over a period of three years. Susan Ellis is the designer. When the last ones came, it was a challenge to use the prints because some were very large flowers while others were very small. I drafted a basket and filled it with portions of an eight-pointed star. Some of the stars have diamonds with four sections, others have just diamonds. The corners have baskets filled with various flowers as well as at the center of all four sizes. These bouquets are connected with an appliquéd vine and leaves. Notice the names of the flower and the state or states it represents written on each block. Hand pieced, hand quilted and appliquéd, cotton batting.
